Fun-filled Weekend

We (finally!) got to spend a whole weekend together without any outside plans or people. Just us. It was so lovely. Friday night we stayed in and watched P.S. I love You. It is extremely sad. Like whoa sad. It made me realize that I need to live in the moment more and stop constantly looking ahead to what is next in our lives. I have the most amazing husband in the world and I just need to enjoy him- especially while it's just us.
Then on Saturday Scott got up early and went to the driving range while I got really into my new book. It may be dumb, actually it IS dumb, but I like it. So there. After that we went to the Galleria. It has been a REALLY long time since we have just strolled through a mall and piddled. It was relaxing and fun. After a few great finds at Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and The Gap we headed home and hit the pool. Another really relaxing and fun time. Even though it was pretty crowded and there were people blaring 106.1 it was still nice to just chill. Unfortunately, I grew up spending 10+ hours at the pool at a time and Scott didn't (he's not a strong swimmer) so he weenied out sooner than I had hoped.
We then got ready to go to our fabulous dinner. One of Scott's clients gave him a gift certificate of appreciation to his (really fancy schmancy) restaurant. It was fun to be able to dress up and eat incredible food that we wouldn't normally get to have.
These are my shoes. Yes, I took a picture of my shoes. I love my shoes.Scott was taking a really long time getting ready.

After the really yummy dinner we had planned to go to Sundance Square to see a movie and go to my favorite Barnes and Noble but......we went home instead. Surprise. We are such home bodies. I sometimes feel guilty that we hardly go out like other people our age, but I don't really care. I love being at my homey home with my sweet husband and our crazy pets just hanging out. I don't think that's wrong. So we talked and read (by this time I am REALLY into my book).Gertrude's reading material

Sunday Scott went and played golf with some buddies while I did laundry and read the rest of my book. Then we went to Half Price Books, got the new Coldplay, and came home and watched Gone Baby Gone. Good movie.
Wonderful weekend, even better food, and the BEST company.

p.s. I just found out that Scott has never seen all of The Little Mermaid. WHAT THE HECK??

I love those weekends - only now that means that there are six of us together?! And I agree totally that living in the present is so much more important (and Godly) but I disagree that you have the most amazing husband in the world. I'll allow that he is a good one but mine is pretty amazing too. :)
I keep wanting to take the kids swimming for all day too but I can't handle it. I didn't hang out at pools either (and we had one!) and I always wimp out after about 2 hours.
And your shoes are awesome.

I watched PS I love you- but by myself because I knew James would hate it- I cried like a baby. It did make me think as well about living now... It stresses me out to no end not knowing what James and I are doing. We don't have a plan for the next year except to figure out some things... super hard! :-) Happy you got to have a good weekend together! It's always nice.
